Principles of Centrifugal Pump Construction
Introduction
A centrifugal pump is designed on the principle of imparting velocity to the liquid which it is handling, then directing the liquid with its acquired velocity to the point of use. Velocity is given to the liquid by using the "centrifugal force " which is generated whenever an object is rotated around a central axis . The object being rotated tends to flyaway from the center of rotation due to its velocity. The centrifugal force increases proportionately with the speed of rotation.
