CERTIFIED WELDING INSPECTOR JOB VACANCY IN S&ME TENNESSEE
S&ME is establishing a presence in Memphis, Tennessee! We are nearing completion of our new office and are looking for talented individuals with varying levels of experience to provide a full range of S&ME services. We seek top talent and are currently looking for three full-time Certified Welding Inspectors to work in our expanding Memphis, Tennessee office.
This job entails visual inspection of structural steel, including bolted and welded connections, as well as field inspection and non-destructive testing. Other duties include coordinating testing assignments on various projects, maintaining testing equipment, report preparation, and field work, which includes safely climbing steel structures such as buildings, cellphone towers, and water tanks to heights in excess of 200 feet.
Position will necessitate 50+ hour work weeks (during peak workload periods), as well as off-shift and weekend work as needed.
Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED is required, as is an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
Three years of metals testing experience is preferred.
Bolting certification from ICC is preferred.
Level II certification in UT, PT, or MT is preferred.
You are flexible and willing to travel for this position. This position will necessitate travel, for which the company will pay all expenses.
Capability to reach heights of more than 200 feet;
Knowledge of how to use fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems.
