Job Overview:
Perform FEED, studies, comprehensive engineering design, analysis, and calculations on increasingly challenging and complicated engineering projects. Apply your knowledge and abilities to a variety of assignments. Create precise design calculations and analyses that are clear and accurate, as well as design reports and procedures. To meet deadlines, prioritize and arrange your own work. Work on finishing projects on time and within budget. In simple engineering activities, clearly express and explain information.
Contact all engineering disciplines, the fabrication group, and document control. Coordinate all design and drafting disciplines.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Become familiar with the project's specs, timetable, and all other inter-discipline needs, as well as how to identify issues as soon as possible. Recognize scope modifications and let the discipline lead engineer know.
- To create designs without conflicts, communicate with all disciplines.
- To get feedback for discipline designs and drawings, interface with other departments.
- Send copies of any substantial communications—communications that lead to important decisions or task assignments—to the discipline lead engineer and discipline manager.
- As instructed, provide the necessary bid inputs.
- Create detailed design sketches to serve as a guide for designers.
- Check MTOs for requests.
- based on the receipt of vendor information, assist in updating the weight report.
- Examine the plans.
- Verify the engineering work done by other members of the discipline.
- Capture lessons learned and enter into MDR's Lessons Learned system.
- Capture Knowledge Objects and enter into MDR's K.now system.
- Develop an awareness of costs related to own work and of the discipline.
- Prepare the following for pipelines and their components:
- Material specifications and datasheets.
- Fabrication specifications
- Installation specifications.
- Pipeline design and installation analyses. o Material takeoffs
- Pipeline reports and installation manuals.
- Perform the following designs, analyses and evaluations for pipelines and their components:
- Wall thickness designs
- On-bottom stability analyses
- Pipeline cathodic protection designs
- Free-span analyses
- Pipeline expansion and rigid riser stress analyses using finite element analysis (FEA) tools
- Route selection designs
- Bottom roughness evaluations
- Crossing support designs
- Dropped object protection structure designs
- Clamp designs
- Subsea structure designs
- Shore approach designs o Onshore pipeline designs
- Pipeline local and global buckling mitigation designs
- Pipeline seismic analyses
- Installation analyses
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Marine Engineering; or Naval Architecture
- (Master Degree is Preferred)
- 3+ yrs in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant predominantly performing detail design of offshore facilities
- Familiar with the content and application of standards, codes and guidelines as applicable for offshore. Knowledge of many basic design techniques and analysis methods.
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
- Preferably Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or member of professional engineering society
